DIY Cardboard Box Train #MummyMondays

We love watching Mister Maker and all of the nifty things he creates. A couple of weeks ago Mister Maker made a train from cardboard boxes and I knew I just had to make one for the train crazy’ Elliott. The photos below show what materials I used and how I put it together. It was so easy, just stick boxes, round container and the lids together with a bit of PVC glue, leave it to dry and bam, you have a train!

I had plans to paint the train, but as soon as the Glue had dried, Elliott was keen to take it for a spin. Then I thought, if he knows it’s a train, there’s no need to paint it. The great thing about this train is that you can open the lid on the cylinder and use it to store pencils, pens and crayons!

This is such a great idea Eva! My big boy is train mad (as well as car, truck, plane mad!) and would love this. Thanks for sharing, can’t wait to give this a go.

Cool train! I like the stuff made on Mr Maker, but that guy irritates me for some reason

What a good idea! I especially like that you can store things inside it.

It makes you look at the recycling bin differently! What little kid wouldn’t adore this?

What a great train! My son Jeremy loves Mister Maker too. He is always inspired to get crafty while/after watching it.
