I stumbled across a conversation in an Aussie Bloggers group about SEO and came across a suggestion I’d never thought of.
The suggestion was that if you’re looking to improve SEO, it’s much better to set up your blog/website to target Australia (obviously this is going to pertain to Aussie Bloggers and businesses), and this is done in Google Webmaster Tools.
The reason for this suggestion is that if you don’t set it up this way, Google will target a worldwide audience which means your keywords will be competing with millions of others. But, if you were to change your settings to target Australia your keywords will be competing with a much smaller pool.
I’m on the video band wagon again and whipped up another short video to explain to you exactly how to change this setting in Google Webmaster Tools. If you haven’t yet set up Google Webmaster Tools, it’s very easy to add your site.
