Whenever we ventured out in Mr G’s car that had a different car seat to my car, it was always the same. Miss M would be beside herself once we put her in her car seat. Any mother can pick up on when something isn’t quite right with their child when a cry is more […]
As much as I'm not 100% keen on the term, yes, I guess you could call this a mummy blog because I am a mum and share my musings, experiences and thoughts on motherhood.
I'm definitely not about telling you how you should be raising your kids, I'm here to share my experiences, challenges and the occasional parenting tips in the hope that it is relatable and helpful because we all know how much pressure us mums put on ourselves!
I hope you enjoy scrolling through the numerous posts I have written over the years on motherhood, pregnancy, birth, toddler taming, childcare, postnatal depression, miscarriage, kids activities and more. And, I always love hearing from my readers too so feel free to drop a line.
Happy reading and thanks for dropping by.
I can’t believe that as I write this blog post, Miss M is 6 days away from being 6 months old. How does that happen? But what I do know is that the few days leading up to her birth are extremely clear in my mind. Master E arrived at 36+6 weeks so I was […]
This week is an emotion filled one. Not only is my baby girl growing at supersonic speed and now five months old, my baby boy turns five years old and has his last day of kindy tomorrow because it’s off to prep next year. For me, Master E going off to prep is bittersweet. It’s […]
I see this conversation pop up on social media all the time and there are many mother’s (and fathers) that have the same view as me and others that don’t. Master E turns five this week and he still sees me naked. He too is happy to walk around in the nude. Quite often he […]
My breastfeeding experience with Master E was far from perfect and only lasted two months, but I knew in the back of my mind I would have a second chance with my next child. When I was pregnant with Miss M, I couldn’t wait to try breastfeeding again. I felt confident, I was better informed, […]
Skin on skin contact with both my babies has been one of my most favourite experiences, the connectedness I have felt is out of this world. But what I didn’t realise was the sheer power it has on a baby. Lois Wattis, Midwife, Nurse and Author says, “The skin of a newborn baby is extremely delicate […]
I’ve moved only once with a toddler and I think that’s a move I don’t want to do again in a while. Not only is there the challenge of having to pack and unpack with a toddler beside you wanting to do anything but and the whole change in environment and routine. I thought I’d […]
When we named both of our children, we considered many things. We considered pronunciations, uniqueness, meanings, whether they were names that could potentially be shortened or turned into nicknames. We’ve always liked names that you don’t come across often but that aren’t completely uncommon. The meaning of a name isn’t overly important but is a definite […]
It was when I took Miss M for her 2-month needles that I learnt about the term ‘poo diva’ from a lovely doctor. “So how’s everything going with Miss M?” the doctor asked. “Everything is going really well, except, she only poos every 5 days,” I replied. “Oh, so she’s a little poo diva is […]
In collaboration with Kids Business Communications and Nude Food Movers I hate to think how much plastic wrap and packaging we’ve consumed in our lifetime as a family, particularly when it comes to packed lunches and food in general. Actually, there are stats to indicate how much we’re likely to have used. The stats Australia […]
