Elliott has a bubble machine and the bubble machine came with bubble mix. The bubble mix made brilliant bubbles, bubbles that lasted for ever and didn’t pop straight away! The day came when we used up all of the mixture and so I made up some more with water and dish washing detergent, just like […]
As much as I'm not 100% keen on the term, yes, I guess you could call this a mummy blog because I am a mum and share my musings, experiences and thoughts on motherhood.
I'm definitely not about telling you how you should be raising your kids, I'm here to share my experiences, challenges and the occasional parenting tips in the hope that it is relatable and helpful because we all know how much pressure us mums put on ourselves!
I hope you enjoy scrolling through the numerous posts I have written over the years on motherhood, pregnancy, birth, toddler taming, childcare, postnatal depression, miscarriage, kids activities and more. And, I always love hearing from my readers too so feel free to drop a line.
Happy reading and thanks for dropping by.
So, what do you think? Does this look like your day, lazing around? Ha! I didn’t think so and it’s definitely not mine either! But a lady I overheard the other evening seemed to think so!I had to write a post to share with you my frustration over a conversation I overheard the other night […]
As I was doing my usual nightly peruse through my Facebook feed, I saw someone asking for ideas of what they could do with old formula tins. My suggestion to them was to use it as a plastic bag dispenser or as a toddler activity where they can pop coloured pom poms through a hole […]
Toddler Tantrums. I was hoping they wouldn’t happen until Elliott was two, but that just shows you how much I didn’t know about toddlers. Hitting, screaming, kicking, food throwing, pulling off a dirty nappy, banging doors, multiple times a day…it’s driving me bonkers and it’s been REALLY hard to keep my temper. It was suggested to […]
Today I thought I’d revisit my most popular post Homemade Finger Paints but then I thought I must tell you about my ‘Mummy Brain Fart Moment’ that I had yesterday. Yesterday was not one of the best days. I woke feeling tired, had absolutely zero energy or motivation, I wasn’t thinking clearly, but I knew […]
It seems to happen every year, Fathers Day comes around and I leave the gifts and organising to the very last minute! With less than one week left, I still wouldn’t have a clue what we are doing and I haven’t even thought about gifts for Mr. G or both grand fathers (bad Mummy/Wife!), so […]
Elliott has just turned 20 months, which leaves me with 4 months to come up with cars birthday party ideas for his 2nd birthday party. What I do know is that it’s going to be a backyard affair, purely because now we have quite a large one, and it’s perfect for a kids party. It’s […]
Little E has had his fair share of illnesses these past 6 weeks. It started with vomiting and diarrhea, then a full body rash, then severe croup that required hospitalisation, then hand foot & mouth disease and now he’s fighting off a secondary chest infection of conjunctivitis! Oh how I’m looking forward to seeing a […]
When it comes to brushing Elliott’s teeth, you almost need to run for cover! There’s screaming, twisting and kicking involved, arms and legs flying and the risk of getting your fingers bitten off! Mr. G and I have persisted with this for a long time, Elliott simply does not like having his teeth brushed. We’ve […]
I am not the most creative when it comes to coming up with fun toddler activities and so I am very thankful for the internet which has allowed me to Google activities for toddlers. It’s likely you’ve seen this activity before or have done it yourself, but I will admit I was very proud of […]
