Amidst all the positive body image movements everywhere, I don’t think there will ever be a point where I will 100% love and accept my post baby body. I try to accept and appreciate that I grew two tiny humans inside me, and what beautiful humans they are, but, I find myself aching to have […]
As much as I'm not 100% keen on the term, yes, I guess you could call this a mummy blog because I am a mum and share my musings, experiences and thoughts on motherhood.
I'm definitely not about telling you how you should be raising your kids, I'm here to share my experiences, challenges and the occasional parenting tips in the hope that it is relatable and helpful because we all know how much pressure us mums put on ourselves!
I hope you enjoy scrolling through the numerous posts I have written over the years on motherhood, pregnancy, birth, toddler taming, childcare, postnatal depression, miscarriage, kids activities and more. And, I always love hearing from my readers too so feel free to drop a line.
Happy reading and thanks for dropping by.
I don’t need to tell you how tough being a new mum is, particularly the newborn stage. Thank goodness this time around I’ve learnt to accept help and how important it is for my mental health to do so. With Master E, I was the complete opposite. I found it very hard to ask for […]
Apart from a few common complaints, my pregnancy was a time of great joy (when I wasn’t experiencing back pain or pelvic symphysis), excitement and anticipation. But when it came to sleep during pregnancy, I reckon Mr G was close to kicking me out of the bed and into another room. I’ve always been a […]
The idea of having a little “me” time is pretty mythical for us modern mums, isn’t it? But, I’m still hoping that time will come because I never underestimate the power of a well-earned break. It’s the perfect chance to de-stress, switch off and reset. My last break was in Sydney when I was 20 […]
This is part 1 of a two part series. This is a question that comes up a lot in my doula and hypnobirthing business. Women ask if I can work with their partner to ensure that he is the best that he can be. Partners (I’ll refer to them in this blog as “he or […]
When I had Elliott, I knew baby wearing was a big thing. I remember women being absolutely passionate about it but, to be honest, I didn’t quite get it and I didn’t get into it myself. I wish I did. There was a culmination of reasons as to why I didn’t get into babywearing. Firstly, […]
Back before having Mila, I remember searching for a baby gift box to send to my friend who was also expecting at the same time as me. I knew exactly what I had in mind and imagined what I wanted a baby gift box to look like. I wanted a gift that was stylish, something […]
As I find myself on my second breastfeeding journey, after one that didn’t go how I’d hoped, I am reminded why it is so hard and why it continues to be one of the most difficult things I’ve done in my life. Yes, the second time round has been loads easier because I have more […]
When Elliott was a baby there were definitely a heap of baby products that hardly got used, either because they were a bit of a fad or the quality just wasn’t there. There were also baby products that were kindly given to us and although they had their cons, we made do because not having to pay […]
When I think back to having my first child, I honestly didn’t have a clue about how much effort and energy it would take to look after a baby. I remember the whole idea of having one year off on maternity leave sounding so bloody awesome, but oh was I so wrong. I thought that not […]
