Two Whimsical Stories for Kids by Mem Fox

If I think of some of my favourite children’s book authors, Mem Fox is one of the first to pop to mind. Elliott and I love reading her stories for kids, particularly ‘Where’s the Green Sheep’. Elliott loves the rhyming and being able to point out the colours and type of sheep. As a child myself, my favourite book was definitely Possum Magic. Mem Fox is still creating wonderful¬†kids picture books and I have two new ones to share with you.

This & That, Mem Fox and Judy Horacek

Scholastic Australia, RRP $19.99

Stories for kids - This & That by Mem Fox

Mem Fox’ books are all about having fun reading and This & That is certainly lots of fun. The illustrations by Judy Horacek smartly mimic Fox’s energetic and pitch-perfect words about crazy giraffes, kings and queens, magic hats and two speckled hens. It’s lively and engaging, especially when read with an energetic and lively voice! The ending is just a little bit heart-warming too, a perfect close for bedtime.

Nellie Bellie, Mem Fox and Mike Austin

Scholastic Australia, RRP $19.99

Stories for kids - Nellie Belle by Mem Fox

This is another lyrical, rhythmical, rhyming and repetitious kids picture book from Mem Fox. We love it for this very reason, it keeps Elliott interested in the story and keeps him focused on what’s going to happen next. Elliott is usually always looking for something else to do, but not when we’re reading Mem Fox. Supported by vibrant illustrations by Mike Austin, Nellie Belle is a dog who loves to have fun…everywhere! The name Nellie Belle actually came from Mem’s beloved dog.

At the beach!

In the street!

Nellie Belle

has friends to meet!

Wouldn’t you like to join her?¬†

Do you love Mem Fox as much as we do? What’s your favourite Mem Fox book?
