Oh, Thelma looked amazing.

She was a unicorn!

‘I’m special now,’ she cried out loud.

And so, a star was born…

Thelma is an ordinary pony who longs to be more. One day, she spots a carrot on the ground and comes up with a brilliant idea! She ties it to her head, just before a skidding truck spills pink paint and glitter all over her! Presto! Thelma is a unicorn!

Thelma quickly rises to fame, but does she really want all the attention? Or would she be happier as her old self again?

Thelma the Unicorn
I absolutely loved this book and yelled out a big ‘that was awesome’ as I closed it. I must admit being drawn in by its sparkly cover and I know you should never judge a book by its cover, but this story truly sparkled in every way. The author Aaron Blabey and also the creator of the book Pig the Pug, has been very clever in writing this story.  Thelma’s quirky and lovable character brings humour to the story as well as life lessons. Thelma learns that being a celebrity is really not all it’s cracked up to be and that life is much better when you learn to be happy with who you are.
