I’d just like to say CANCER SUCKS. I don’t know what it is but all of a sudden I’ve learnt of a number of people fighting cancer, it’s just something none of us can escape.
That’s why I love the idea of Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea. Not only is it an opportunity to gather with friends, family and workmates to raise money and help those affected by cancer, it is an opportunity to come together for something that affects us all – directly or indirectly.
The official Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea event is on Thursday 26th of May although events can be hosted at any time during May and June. You can get as creative as you want, it can be an afternoon tea instead of a morning tea, a brunch or last year I had an Intimo Lingerie party with afternoon nibbles as my fundraising and awareness event.
Are you’re in the market for a new coffee machine? Well, put JURA on the list of machines to consider. JURA is supporting Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea in 2016 by donating $50 from the sale of each domestic coffee machine through April and May. AND, if you raise $500 or more at your own morning tea and bank it by July 1, you’ll automatically go into the draw to win a JURA Ena Micro 90 one-touch coffee machine valued at $1,399.
But luckier than receiving delicious coffee was being able to hear this lady, Elly, talk about her cancer journey. It seriously put things into perspective as a wife, mother, daughter, sister and friend. So much so that it was the final straw to making myself finally go and have a second opinion on a lump I’ve noticed in my right breast. Today I go for an ultrasound, I’m confident it’s nothing to worry about, but it’s peace of mind too. Don’t leave it too late.
Taking part in Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea is easy, simply register as a host, set a date and invite your friends. To register or for more information, visit biggestmorningtea.com.au or call 1300 65 65 85.
Oh, and lastly, I’ve put together some SCRUMPTIOUS morning tea recipes from some of my fave food bloggers, a perfect accompaniment to your morning tea. Just click on the underlined link for the recipe.
