How to Create Short Links The Easy Way

How To Create Short Links Super Fast

Back in my post 6 Ways to Increase Your Fan Engagement on Facebook, I suggested trying to use a short link in the status update box and attaching an image/s instead of embedding the blog post/website into the status update.

One thing that has been mentioned to me in terms of using short links is that it’s just another annoying step to take and is often thrown in the ‘too hard’ basket.  But, I’m here to tell you how it can take 10 seconds to create a google short link and it doesn’t require you to navigate away to any other website.

How, you ask? All you have to do is install an Add-on into your browser toolbar. Here’s a screenshot of mine. I use Google Chrome and have a little green icon in the top of my toolbar, when I’m on a page that I want to create a short link for, all I do is click the icon, it creates a short link and then I copy it. Simple.

But first you have to download the Add-on for your browser. That’s easy too, all you need to do is click download and it will add it to your toolbar.

Short link away, people!

Thanks Emily, yes I thought there may be add-ons for other shorteners but stuck to the one I love using. That’s so much lovely. I’m so excited about it, loads of interest, much much more than I expected!

No probs Bek. If you’re a fan of tiny url (seems like you may not be), you could see if tiny url has an add-on for your web browser too.
