Easily Achievable Style Trends That Are In This Autumn 2016

I’ve never really been one to follow fashion trends but thanks to a few different blogs and websites I follow, they have me a little inspired and have pushed me to delve a little outside my comfort zone. There’s always a first time for everything, right?

So, I’ve had a bit of a look around to see what’s trending this Autumn 2016 as we come into my favourite seasons of cooler weather. I’m happy to say that they are trends I can most certainly live with and aren’t too ‘out there’ for my pretty low-maintenance fashion sense. I reckon they’re doable!

Minimalism is a big trend in fashion right now, and it is taking a lot of inspiration from the ‘70s. And that means minimal makeup too – hooray!  If you’ve got a good skin care regime going on and have silky soft skin, you might not even need to wear any makeup. This is great news for me because, besides a bit of lipstick, makeup is almost non-existent for me.  How do you wear minimalism? It’s all about ditching the patterns and choosing block pieces instead. Think about buying turtlenecks and flared trousers for a super chic, minimal ‘70s style.

Bohemian Traders Desert Flower Waterfall Jacket

Desert Flower Waterfall Jacket from Bohemian Traders

Does boho ever go out of fashion? It feels like this flowery, hippy chic trend is always on-point, especially right now for autumn. The key to getting this look right is to go all-out when it comes to flowery patterns. You can’t wear too many flowers if you’re aiming for a boho style! Long, flowing dresses are also part of the look, as well as natural fabrics and materials. Treat your hair and let is dry naturally as well. Natural locks add to overall boho elegance.

If you’re more of a tomboy than a hippy chick, the military trend will have something for you. Think khaki trousers and black blazers. Trench coats really suit this style as well. In fact, most casual and practical jackets will be perfect to adding some military style to your outfit. You’ll certainly find plenty of inspiration inThe Iconic’s superdry collection. Not only does this style certainly look great while you are out and about, but it’s also super comfy for people like me who work from home. I love the idea of being able to  team cosy cargo pants with a plain grey t-shirt.

Autumn trends denim
History is repeating itself and denim is now back in fashion again! This material was big news throughout the ‘80s, and now it is back to grace our wardrobes once again. And not just as jeans. Denim shirts are big news, as well as denim anoraks, shirt-dresses, and off-the-shoulder tops. This season, you’ll be wearing denim in as many ways as possible!

Sure, we’re still cooling down from summer, and it’s still pretty hot out there, but this autumn’s knitwear is just too cute not to wear. Just be thankful thin knitwear is in this season! Soft knitted cardigans are in all the shops already. You’ll also soon notice off-the-shoulder knitted t-shirts. As with denim, knitted fabric will be trying to get everywhere! Which colour should your knitwear be? Go for this season’s shade of choice: pastel grey. And makeup? Neutral pastel eye makeup will look great as you’re snuggled up in your knitted jumper.

So go out and treat yourself to some of these cool trends and styles before the Winter styles start rolling in, I’m going to be daring and try a trend for once!
