The Day I Saw a Ghost #MummyMondays

the day i saw a ghost
Remember the blog post where I shared that I’d actually seen a ghost? Well I had so many people ask me to tell them about THAT experience and so today is the day.

Whether you believe in ghosts or not, I’m just going to tell it exactly how itĀ happened. It’s not going to make for a long blog post but it’s something that I’ve never been able to get out of my head since it happened almost 8 years ago.

It happened in our bedroom while we were in bed. It was early morning and the sun had not long started to rise. I started to wake and as I opened my eyes there was a man standing completely still next to my bed, staring at me.

He wasn’t overly tall, probably 5’4″ and was wearing navy blue overalls, like he’d just come home from working in some sort of workshop. He had greying hair and a beard. He didn’t move, he just stood there staring at me like I was someone he knew, waiting for me to say something to him.

I remember seeing him and acknowledging in my mind that he was in fact standing there but for some strange reason, I wasn’t scared or shocked, it was somewhat peaceful. He wasn’t threatening, he was simply looking over me. It was strange how I reacted, not how I would have thought I would given the situation. It was like a calm had come over me.

I don’t know who he is, I’ve never seen him before in my life. It’s quite possible he was a previous resident of the house that we now lived in. It was quite possible that he slept in the same room, right where I slept.

I will never ever forget this vision.

So there you have it, this is my ghost story. And ever since, I’ve been looking out for other ghosts, at Port Arthur, in my almost 100 year old house, wherever I think they might be but…..nothing.

Ooooo creepy! Glad you’re weren’t freaked out by it. That’s my biggest worry, especially if it was in my own house, seeing a ghost and being continually scared of it. Have you done any research about prior residents of the house or documented deaths in the area? I would it interesting to discover his possible identity. There’s another blog post for you! x

    Yay for ghosties!
I have seen so many in my life but the one that really stuck was one morning, I awoke to a woman standing in my bedroom doorway. She was wearing a white robe tied with a gold cord and she was staring out the window above my bed. Like yours, she did not move but appeared frozen and VERY lifelike – she looked normal and so strange at the same time. Then she vanished! It was bright morning daylight and I was very much awake!

Wow. I have seen a couple but still not sure if I believe in them. My story is too long I would have to do a post on it. Good idea, I might do that. Thanks Eva.

Ghosts freak me out. I’m fascinated by them and petrified at the same time. I don’t really like supernatural stuff cos I’m such a wuss.

I used to see ghosts all the time when I was younger – now not as much.
