One of my jobs as a multi-tasking mummy is to look after the family finances. I’m not sure how I scored that job and I’ve tried to fob it off, but after 9 years I’m still Family Finance Manager.

I do my best to find savings in every bill we have to pay and when it comes to car insurance, as much as it’s a pain in the bum to have to shop around, it’s one thing I’m really glad I did.

I was approached to write a post for Youi and it just so happens that I am a huge fan of theirs and have both of our cars insured with them.  I decided to turn this post into my own Youi car insurance review because I really want you, my readers, to know how much money these guys have saved me when we really needed it (and how great their customer service is).  And it’s not because they’re sponsoring this post that I’m going to tell you they’re so great because I’m more transparent than that, when it comes to saving money I want everyone to know how.

Since Elliott was born I’ve been a stay at home mum and more recently I’ve returned to working from home 3 days a week as a freelance writer and social media manager. This means that for the majority of time my car is either in the garage or we make quick little local trips to the shops, playgroup, daycare or to the park. There was no way I was going to pay the same amount of insurance as someone who drives 100+km a day or that parks on the street instead of in secure parking.

I’d seen all of the Youi ads on television claiming how much money they could save people and that they took into account how often someone drove their car. They were also recommended to me by a friend and so I gave it a shot.

I was gobsmacked at how much money I saved as soon as I transferred over from my current insurer. Between both of our cars it was at least a few hundred dollars back in our pockets.

Recently I had to call Youi to have my car insurance policy reassessed because my circumstances had changed. I was over the moon with the customer service, the lady I spoke to went out of her way to ensure that my policy was tailored to my situation. It’s so refreshing to receive top notch customer service these days!

It’s so easy to just let your insurances roll over but it’s so worth taking 20 minutes of your time to make a call and see what Youi can do for you if it means saving as much money as I have….money for christmas presents (or something nice for yourself)!

    We changed all our insurance to Youi – car, house and contents and valuables. We ended up saving $700 on our whole policy. As a result my parents changed to Youi as did my brother. I loved the customer service. And I love how I was given the one customer service person to deal with throughout the quoting process.

      That’s great! Yes, the customer service is great. I was recommended them by a friend who also had a great experience.
